DESCRIPTION:Hurricane season begins with expo at Ashley River Park\nEvent aims to educate\, entertain with emergency preparedness\, family-friendly activities\n\n\nAs the hurricane season approaches\, Dorchester County officials are inviting the community to take a proactive — and fun — approach to storm preparedness at the annual Hurricane Expo and Family Fun Day from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday\, May 31\, at Ashley River Park.event combines vital information with family-friendly entertainment\, offering attendees the chance to learn how to protect their homes and loved ones while enjoying an outing in the park.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExperts from the National Weather Service\, South Carolina Emergency Management Division and Dorchester County Emergency Management will be on hand to share guidance on how to prepare for storms and respond effectively during emergencies. \nAttendees can meet local first responders and explore a “Touch-a-Truck” display featuring emergency and safety vehicles. Representatives from other local services\, such as mosquito abatement\, law enforcement and animal control\, will also be available to answer questions. \n\n\n\nThe expo isn’t just about safety — it’s also designed for fun. Families can enjoy train rides\, inflatables\, face painting\, balloon art and various food vendors. \nAll ages are welcome to attend.
