Representatives from other local services\, such as mosquito abatement\, law enforcement and animal control\, will also be available to answer questions. \n\n\n\nThe expo isn’t just about safety — it’s also designed for fun. Families can enjoy train rides\, inflatables\, face painting\, balloon art and various food vendors. \nAll ages are welcome to attend. DESCRIPTION:Town of Summerville’s new Waste Locator Tool\n\nClick here to locate your pickup days for garbage\, recycling\, yard\, and bulk.\n\nRecycling\nThe Town of Summerville established single-stream recycling curbside collections in 2021. This allows Town of Summerville residents and some businesses to recycle more than paper and cardboard. All recyclables\, including glass\, plastic\, metal\, paper\, and cardboard\, can be combined in the same recycling container. \nCarolina Waste\, the Town’s waste collection provider\, will collect the recycling materials in the same 65-gallon blue lid container currently used. Weekly collections will continue on the same service day\, which is the same day as garbage collections. Residents are encouraged to participate in single-stream recycling and ensure only appropriate materials are properly disposed of by reviewing the list of items that can and cannot be recycled. \nGarbage\nThe Town of Summerville garbage pick-up services are provided for residents according to the schedule via a contract with Carolina Waste. Household garbage pickups are made once weekly. \nAll household garbage to be collected must be placed in disposable plastic garbage bags or some other disposable container and placed in the roll cart provided by Carolina Waste. The roll cart is to be placed inside the curb\, outside the drainage ditch line of the street\, near the front line of your premises\, no later than 5:30 a.m. on your designated pick-up day. \nThe roll carts named “Carolina Waste” will be emptied of garbage and returned to the curb. Garbage cans of any shape and size other than those provided by Carolina Waste are not permitted on the curb at any time\, and racks designated to hold garbage receptacles are not permitted on the curb at any time. \nIf a business or residential property was missed\, please inform them of the delay\, and they can call Carolina Waste directly at 843-576-1100\, Option 0\, or Public Works at 843-851-4225. \n*Carolina Waste closes only on major holidays\, not on the days before or after. These holidays include New Year’s Day\, Memorial Day\, Independence Day\, Labor Day\, Thanksgiving\, and Christmas Day.* \nYard Debris\nThe Town of Summerville will only pick up yard debris that is in an open pile or bagged in recyclable paper bags. \nTree limbs must be no longer than 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter.  Limbs larger than these dimensions and large sections of trunks or stumps will not be picked up. \nConstruction debris or other materials such as boards\, lumber\, tile\, bricks\, and/or plastic cannot be mixed with yard debris. If these items are included in yard debris piles\, they will not be picked up. \nYard Debris set out in plastic bins/cans/roll carts will not be emptied. \nBulk Waste\nBulk waste (furniture\, appliances\, boards\, fencing\, etc.) will be picked up by the Town once a month.
